A one-week research stay by Dr. Facundo Barraqué at Danube Private University (DPU) continues the scientific exchange with VŠB–Technical University of Ostrava (VŠB-TUO). The collaboration takes place within the framework of the AKTION Austria–Czech Republic programme.
Joint Research on Hybrid Materials
Following the recent research visit of Asst. Prof. Dr. Juan A. Allegretto to VŠB-TUO, Dr. Facundo Barraqué is now spending one week at DPU. The collaboration brings together DPU’s Optical Biosensors Technology group at the Laboratory for Life Sciences and Technology (LiST) and the Department of Chemical and Physicochemical Processes at VŠB-TUO.
The joint research focuses on the preparation, investigation, and characterisation of hybrid materials and their potential applications in optical technologies and photocatalysis. During his stay, Dr. Barraqué is working closely with the DPU research team, including Dr. Juan A. Allegretto and Dr. Katharina Schmidt. Their work involves advancing ongoing experimental activities, exchanging methodological expertise, and discussing the next steps of the joint project.
Bilateral Collaboration Until December 2026
The project runs from July to December 2026 and is coordinated by Dr. Juan A. Allegretto at DPU and Dr. Facundo Barraqué at VŠB-TUO. It is supported by the AKTION Austria–Czech Republic programme, which promotes bilateral academic cooperation and research exchange.
Through these reciprocal research visits, the two institutions continue to strengthen their scientific partnership and lay the groundwork for further joint research activities on hybrid materials and their technological applications.
