About the DPU

The mission of Danube Private University (DPU) is to transform healthcare through excellence in science, research, and education. We focus on improving diagnostic tools and treatment options in medicine and dentistry through careful innovation.
At the same time, our researchers and clinicians work together to advance technologies that enable a new era of personalized and preventive medicine, ultimately improving patient care and population health. 

We envision a future of personalized and predictive medicine, carried by cutting-edge science. DPU aims to be a leading international hub for medical and dental research, where interdisciplinary teams create impactful solutions for real-world clinical challenges. Through global partnerships, strong ties to Austria’s healthcare system, and an emphasis on translational research, we foster an environment in which discoveries move quickly and effectively from the laboratory into clinical practice.

Our team includes more than 50 international researchers and is active across two research sites in Lower Austria: the Technology and Research Centre (TFZ) in Wiener Neustadt and the DPU research facilities in Krems.

Our scientists bring together expertise in medicine, dentistry, biology, physics, chemistry, engineering, data science, and the humanities. DPU’s uniquely interdisciplinary approach is strengthened by our strong collaborations with the University Medical Center in Wiener Neustadt and the three associated university hospitals: Universitätsklinikum Wiener Neustadt, Universitätsklinikum Neunkirchen and Universitätsklinikum Hochegg.
