Prof. Dr. Hossam Haick is the Head of the Precision and Personalized Medicine Program at DPU, a Fellow of the U.S. National Academy of Inventors, and Full Professor at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology. He is a materials scientist, inventor, and technology entrepreneur whose work bridges nanoscale materials engineering with medical and industrial innovation. His research focuses on functional nanomaterials and AI-enabled nanoarrays for non-invasive chemical sensing, enabling the detection of disease-specific biomarkers from breath and skin for the diagnosis of more than 17 diseases, including cancers and infectious disorders.

Hossam Haick has developed wearable, self-powered, and self-healing sensing systems for continuous physiological and molecular monitoring, advancing next-generation digital health technologies. He is the inventor or co-inventor of more than 100 patents and co-founder of several startups, including Nanose Medical and Feelit Technologies, which have translated his innovations into CE-marked and ISO-certified products. With over 500 peer-reviewed publications and two scientific books, he has received numerous international honors, including the Humboldt Senior Research Award, the Michael Bruno Award, and the Chevalier Academic Palms distinction. Through his scientific, educational, and entrepreneurial leadership, Hossam Haick exemplifies the transformation of research discoveries into technologies with global societal impact.
