New Perspectives for Research and Medicine
As part of the EC2U Summer School “AI in Health and Medical Technology” at Johannes Kepler University Linz, Univ.-Prof. Dr. Constantin von See, MaHM, MSc, from Danube Private University (DPU) contributed to the programme with a presentation on the role of artificial intelligence in scientific research and innovation.
Under the title “Beyond the Average: Unleashing LLM Divergence for Scientific Research and Creativity,” his lecture explored the potential of Large Language Models (LLMs) to open up new perspectives for scientific thinking, research and creativity.
The discussions and workshops that followed highlighted the broad and rapidly evolving role of AI in healthcare and medicine. Topics included clinical applications, medical imaging, clinical decision-making, drug discovery, patient care and precision medicine.
The international and interdisciplinary exchange made one thing particularly clear: the future of AI in science and medicine will not be shaped in isolation, but through collaboration between research, clinical practice, technology and society.
