As part of the ongoing AKTION Austria–Czech Republic project, Asst. Prof. Dr. Juan A. Allegretto from Danube Private University (DPU) spent one week at VŠB–Technical University of Ostrava (VŠB-TUO) for joint research activities.
Advancing joint research on hybrid materials
The research visit marks an important next step in the bilateral collaboration between DPU’s Optical Biosensors Technology group at LiST and the Department of Chemical and Physicochemical Processes at VŠB-TUO.
From Monday, 14 September, to Friday, 18 September 2026, the researchers focused on the preparation, investigation, and characterization of the hybrid materials developed within the project. The hands-on exchange brought together their complementary expertise and helped advance the experimental work towards a better understanding of the materials’ physicochemical properties and their potential optical and photocatalytic applications.
The project is coordinated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Juan A. Allegretto (DPU) and Dr. Facundo Barraqué (VŠB-TUO) and runs from July to December 2026. It is supported by the AKTION Austria–Czech Republic programme, funded by the Austrian Agency for Education and Internationalisation (OeAD) and the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MŠMT).
