New strategic partnership strengthens research in medicine and health at the Krems academic hub
Creating New Perspectives for Research
Danube Private University (DPU) and IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences are combining their scientific expertise in research, medicine and health. By signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the two universities in Krems are establishing a framework for joint research activities and the development of forward-looking projects.
The cooperation brings together the complementary scientific profiles of both institutions. Together, they aim to identify research topics with significant scientific and societal potential, develop interdisciplinary project ideas and translate them into concrete research projects. The focus is on questions at the intersection of medicine, health, technology and application.
Robert Wagner, MA, Director of Strategic University Planning, Management and Science at DPU, emphasises: “Krems has an exceptional concentration of scientific expertise in the fields of medicine and health. Through this partnership, we aim to bring together the different strengths of DPU and IMC Krems and use them to develop new interdisciplinary research projects. It is particularly important to us to initiate joint research that combines scientific excellence with tangible benefits for patients, the healthcare system and the business location. At the same time, we want to pool our resources to launch nationally and internationally visible research and innovation projects from Krems.”

Joint Opportunities for National and European Research Projects
The partnership creates new opportunities for joint applications to regional, national and European research and innovation programmes. The aim is to combine the expertise of both institutions and develop research projects characterised by scientific quality, strong practical relevance and societal impact.
The cooperation strengthens scientific networking at the Krems academic and research hub and creates a shared foundation for new research initiatives.
