Scientific Partnership
At the invitation of Prof. Liyun Zhang of Nankai University (Tianjin), Hon.-Prof. Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Knoll traveled to China for a scientific exchange visit. During his stay, he delivered expert lectures at Nankai University, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Beijing, the Hangzhou Institute of Medicine of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Soochow University in Suzhou.
The presentations focused on recent advances in biomimetic olfactory sensors and the integration of optical and electronic sensing platforms. In addition, existing research collaborations were further strengthened and new joint initiatives were prepared, including a collaborative research proposal on the early detection of ovarian cancer and the development of a project application for the planned FFG/CAS Call 2027 in the fields of materials science and nanotechnology.
The visit highlights DPU's commitment to international research excellence and underscores the importance of long-term scientific partnerships in addressing global challenges.
