The second LiST Institute Seminar once again provided an opportunity to present current research, exchange ideas and discuss new perspectives across disciplines.
Research on Microneedle Sensors and Bioelectronics
On 6 October 2026, the second LiST Institute Seminar took place at Danube Private University in Wiener Neustadt.
Following the successful first seminar, the second edition again provided an opportunity to present current research, exchange ideas and discuss new perspectives across disciplines. The seminar was moderated by Asst.-Prof. Dr. Juan Alejandro Allegretto from DPU.
"Mechanically Adaptive Microneedle Sensors”
Dr. Nataliia Gnyliukh presented her research on wearable and minimally invasive sensing technologies. Her presentation explored microneedle sensors using interstitial fluid as an information source, including the design and fabrication of microneedle-based sensors for monitoring biomarkers such as sodium and pH.
She also presented preliminary results and future work towards continuous, real-time monitoring of multiple biomarkers, including reproductive hormones.
"Bioelectronics: From 2D Semiconducting Materials to Translational Medicine”
Dr. Esteban Piccinini, Guest Researcher from Argentina, provided insights into the development of 2D semiconductor-based bioelectronic technologies and their translation into medical applications.
His presentation included graphene field-effect transistor sensors for applications such as hepatitis E diagnostics and chronic kidney disease monitoring, illustrating how interdisciplinary research can bridge materials science, bioelectronics and clinical needs.
Once again, the discussions following the presentations provided valuable time for scientific exchange, questions and sharing perspectives across different fields.
