DPU Research Group for Safety and Digital Health

We are delighted to welcome PD Dr Mag. Maria Kletecka-Pulker to the team of Danube Private University (DPU). She now leads the newly established DPU Research Group for Safety and Digital Health (PaDiH), which focuses on patient safety, medical law, and communication in healthcare.
Maria Kletecka-Pulker brings extensive experience at the intersection of law, ethics, and medicine, and is passionately committed to safe, patient-centered, and digitally supported healthcare.

“I am especially excited about teaching future medical doctors – they are incredibly dedicated and curious. By using current medical cases, I aim to provide them with a solid foundation in medical law. They are our future – the key to a healthcare system that becomes more efficient, empathetic, and digital.”
— Maria Kletecka-Pulker

In teaching and research, her focus includes:
• Building medical law competencies to identify legal pitfalls early and act safely
• Strengthening a culture of safety in healthcare, enabling physicians to work without fear of legal repercussions
• Enhancing doctor–patient communication as a basis for trust and treatment quality
• Supporting digital transformation in healthcare – including telemedicine, digital hospitals, and Hospital@Home models
• Addressing topics such as health data, ethics consultation, and patient empowerment

A special priority for her is empowering students to become health ambassadors and actively involving patients – for example through the development of a patient advisory council or workshops on health literacy.
