
How can physicians be better prepared for the complex treatment of central nervous system (CNS) tumors?
New study identifies key educational needs and competency gaps in neuro-oncology.
This question is addressed in a recent publication to which Univ.-Prof. Priv.-Doz. Dr. Julia Furtner-Srajer, PhD, MBA, researcher at Danube Private University (DPU), contributed.
In a structured consensus process, the ESMO CNS Faculty examined key educational needs in neuro-oncology. The findings revealed important gaps, particularly in multidisciplinary treatment strategies, approaches to improving survival and health-related quality of life, and access to emerging therapies.
The results highlight the importance of structured, tumor-specific education and training to enhance the care of patients with CNS tumors.
