The event thus attracted around 2,000 visitors
With around 1,500 visitors, this year's Lower Austrian Research Festival on 10 October 2025 was once again a complete success. In addition, over 500 students attended the school workshops held as part of this event. As one of the largest science events in the country, the event thus attracted around 2,000 visitors to the Palais Niederösterreich.
Researchers from the DPU were also present this time and offered exciting insights into their work with two interactive stations and a workshop. At the LiST booth, visitors learned how light and sensor technology can be used to learn more about health and physiological processes. The MIAAI group showed how artificial intelligence analyzes medical images and thus supports diagnostics and research. And the CAROM group's workshop focused on the application of AI and data science in biomedical research – from bioinformatics to language processing to medical image analysis.
A special highlight was that, in addition to numerous visitors, Governor Mikl-Leitner also stopped by our dedicated researchers!
A heartfelt thank you to the Province of Lower Austria for the excellent organisation of this inspiring event, which makes science tangible for everyone and strengthens the dialogue between research and society.
